• Human beings have not five, but six senses: sight, sound, taste, touch, smell... and intuition.

• Atoms, the building block of the universe, are primarily made of resonating light energy. EVERYTHING is infused with and resonates with light energy— energies teeming with information and/or consciousness.
  
  
• We’re conditioned to limiting ourselves to a tactile, physical, surface level, three-dimensional experience, only using our first five senses. This is changing rapidly.
  
  
• When you combine your sixth sense (intuition) with multi-dimensionality and the subtle resonance of light energies (saturating everything), you get... a psychic experience.

Human Psychic Centers and Systems:

Psychic is as psychic does: Whatever you want to name it— psychic skills, intuition, vibes, the gift of prophecy, gut instinct, second sight, having medicine (Native American Indian) or having antennas (my favorite term)-these are all terms indicating our human ability to perceive information and energy beyond three dimensions. Unfortunately, they are single words lumping together an elaborate, sensitive and intricate system. Here are the main highlights, but not all, of a human psychic system:

Energy Bodies: Each of us have a physical body PLUS as many as six to twelve (depending upon which text you reference) more layers of subtle energy bodies infused, interlaced and overlaying our physical one. The exterior field of our energy bodies is seen as a colorful aura. Physical and energy bodies are interchangeably linked with one another and there is a specific silver energy cord connecting the energy bodies to the physical one. When you have an out-of-body experience (especially when you are dreaming), it is this silver cord keeping your energy bodies (a.k.a. your soul) connected to your physical body, as you float and fly around in multi-dimensionality. Part of the death process is the release of this silver cord from the physical body, allowing the energy bodies of an individual to return to ‘the other side.’

Our energy bodies are very subtle and very sensitive. We are constantly sending out and receiving energy and information through them.

Everything we experience in our life impacts our collective energy body, eventually manifesting through and into our physical body. It’s through our energy bodies that we create and heal our illnesses and diseases (Ref: “Anatomy of a Spirit” by Caroline Myss).

Our collective energy body is unimaginably alive, intricate and beautiful. I once experienced a flash image of my own energy bodies while lying on an energy healer’s table. It felt as though a jillion, rainbow like, web and dewed like, orbiting energy threads flowed through and around me. It was all lit up with a myriad of glistening energy colors (some I’d never seen before)— all were constantly moving, flowing, changing and evolving. The information registering in me said “I am SO alive.” We are all far more beautifully alive than we can imagine.

Chakras: The energy body has seven main energy centers called chakras (although some texts indicate 12 chakra centers). Each chakra corresponds with certain parts of our body: root, sex, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and crown chakras. When your chakras are balanced and clear, you tend to feel a whole lot better physically (Ref: “Wheels of Life” by Anodea Judith).

Each chakra serves as a psychic center, but several stand out as primary psychic centers.

• Crown Chakra: Ever wonder what a halo really looks like? We each have one at our crown chakra located directly on the top of our head. When this chakra is open, you are able to receive information directly from ‘the heavens.’ It feels similar to the top of your head opening and pure light or information pouring in.
  
  
• Third Eye Chakra: This chakra is located between your eyebrows, slightly above, and about an inch or so into your brain. (Think of the dot Hindu’s wear on their forehead— this is it.) This chakra has long been associated with psychic experience and as a gateway for receiving information from other dimensions. This site also correlates with the pineal gland and the pineal gland correlates with the DMT molecule. The DMT molecule has been biologically linked to paranormal experience (Ref: “DMT, The Spirit Molecule” by Rick Strassman, M.D. Also ref: “Secrets in the Fields” by Freddy Silva). If you’ve ever felt a slight whirring or buzzing at this tiny location in your brain and then felt a disconnected or floating feeling in your head—your pineal gland might be active!
  
  
• Heart Chakra: Not only is this the location of our physical heart, it’s also the chakra location so much of our love emotion flows through. Studies in heart transplant patients over the past twenty years have verified that heart recipients receive not only the precious muscle, but also the heart energy of the previous owner (Ref: “A Change of Heart” by Claire Sylvia). When you feel someone else’s emotion, chances are, your heart chakra is wide open and you are empathing. (Not to be confused with sympathy).
  
  
• Solar Plexus Chakra: This is the location of gut instinct, right in the vicinity of our belly button. Ever felt your lower abdomen pull at you, or queasily flip? This is a combination of your Solar Plexus Chakra working and your emotional molecules (Ref: “Molecules of Emotion” by Candace Pert). Pert’s scientific work in human molecular biology isolated molecular ‘lock’ and ‘key’ systems in our body corresponding to our experiences of emotion. At any given time, we are experiencing a ‘wash’ of internal emotional molecules flowing through our body.
  
  In short, one of her discoveries is that we have a high percentage of molecular emotional receptor sites in our intestinal track. This correlates directly with ‘gut instinct.’
  
  
  
• Hands: We each have psychic centers in the palms of our hands. When you hold an object, you are able to read the energy attached to that object (its called psychometry). Many psychic detectives do their work by holding an object a victim owns, then reading energy through that object. Sometimes this provides links, clues, pictures and directions to the current unsolved crime, increasing the chances of solving the case.
  
  Energy workers and healers are great examples of how the hand chakras are used for energy flow. Of course healers engage much more of themselves than their hands in their work – but the times I’ve visited energy healers, they primarily use their hands as a conduit for energy flow. Some of the best energy I’ve ever received through other humans is through the hands of an experienced, good healer. It’s as if divinity (not the candy), is in their hands. They’ve provided me with an experience of the greatest gentleness and kindess in touch I’ve ever known.

Types of Psychic Readings

Though the mechanics for psychic readings are roughly similar for all psychics, each psychic has very individual and unique ways of accessing and receiving psychic information. No two psychics work alike. No two psychics receive the exact same information in the exact same way. Each psychic has their own forte or gift. Psychic work is as individual as a fingerprint. This is not an all-encompassing list of types of psychic readings:

• Channeling: a psychic receives a flow of information that can include words, pictures, symbols, feelings, knowings, sounds, smells and more from the multi-dimensional energy field.
  
  
• Aura Reading: a psychic sees and reads the colors and energies in your energy field that surrounds and flows around you. The colors relate to your mood, emotion and energies.
  
  
• Medical Intuiting: a psychic reads the energy flows within your body, seeing the blocks and how they directly affect your health.
  
  
• Mediumship: a psychic makes connection with Angels, deceased loved ones, Spirit Guides, Elementals, etc in the multi-dimensional field, communicating with them.
  
  
• Empathing: a psychic connects with and reads your emotional, energetic, and/or psychological matrix.
  
  
• Hypnosis: a psychic enters a trance-like state and receives information.
  
  
• Energy Healing: a psychic trained in any various healing methodologies to help clear, heal and balance your energies.
  
  
• Animal Communication: a psychic who can tune in to animal energies and directly communicate one-on-one with our four legged friends (or two legged).
  
  
• Psychic Artist: a psychic who can see scenes, faces, entities, individuals and illustrate them.

Types of Entities in the Multi-dimesional Field

Mediums are psychics who read the energy of, connect with and interact with entities functioning in multi-dimensionality (or beyond our physicality and/or ‘beyond the veil’). Note: not all psychics are mediums. All mediums are psychics. A good example of a well known medium is John Edward.

Entities existing in dimensions beyond ours resonate at a much higher frequency than we do. So, for a medium to connect with entities beyond the veil, the entity is usually lowering its frequency and the medium is raising his/her frequency. Here, they bridge the energy gap.

The following descriptions are based upon my experiences of interacting with these entities. Other mediums may disagree or have different experiences and opinions.

• Angels: The times I have interacted with angels, their energy comes in at such a high resonance it feels like they are a field of shimmering mercury— as if mercury has been sprayed in a fine, resonating mist. Angels embrace with such pure light and love, the feeling of being in their energy field and connected to them is beyond description. When an angel suffuses and encompasses with love, you are hovering in an indescribable, eternal, infinite energy. It’s very hard to come back.
  
  
• Spirit Guides: I frequently hear Spirit Guides and Angels referred to interchangeably (a pet peeve of mine). They are not one and the same. They are two separate and different kinds of entities. A Spirit Guide is an entity who has previously physically incarnated into the Earth plane and understands the experience of a Spiritual Being living in a Physical Body (which is the human experience). A Spirit Guide resonates at a lower frequency than Angels and has a more solid energy feeling to them. They also still carry a great deal of divine love, that if you are open, you may experience.
  
  Many times Spirit Guides will reveal particular characteristics and traits personifying themselves— especially if the person I am reading for can use those characteristics as identification markers. Everyone has a main Spirit Guide accompanying them through life, from birth to death. Everyone also has a group of other Spirit Guides who come and go as your life changes and grows. If you experience major transitions in your life, chances are you also have Spirit Guides leaving your life and new ones entering.
  
  
• Deceased Loved Ones: During the summer of 2006, my Spirit Guides told me over and over: “death is inverted birth.” The information included with the statement showed me that when we die, we are merely reversing the energy process that brought us here in birth. When we die, our Spirit lives on in the multi-dimensional plane and we leave our shell, our body behind (Also Ref: “Life After Life” by Raymond Moody). So, when someone dies who is close to you, they no longer are manifest in their bodies, but they still exist in the multi-dimensional plane. To me, Spirit Guides and Deceased Loved Ones feel the same in a psychic reading because they are both beings who have incarnated in the Earth plane. Many times a deceased loved one will work with you as a Spirit Guide.
  
  
• Elementals: Yes, dragons, elves, leprechauns, fairies, nymphs, gremlins, Pegasus, unicorns, trolls (and more mythical creatures)... they really DO exist. All those fairy tales we read and heard as children really do have a grounding in an energetic realness. I wouldn’t have believed it myself until one morning, when I was emerging from sleep, a two foot fairy elf was sitting on his haunches, perched on the side of my bed, watching me.
  
  If you love plants and gardening, or animals, or the outdoors and nature, or beautifying your environment, or have fairy-like pictures and figurines, chances are you’ve already attracted and are working with elementals. Elementals exist in the fourth dimension— that’s why they’re so easy to see, attract and work with. They absolutely love Mother Earth and are here to help us cultivate nature, clean up the environment, teach us respect for life and creatures. They are the change agents in helping all things live and grow.
  
  
• Non-light entities: This list would be incomplete if I did not inform you about the non-light entities that exist. These are the darker, heavier energies. Although counter intuitive, all dark things hold light too. They are very much like a photograph taken at night-if the exposure is long enough, collective light emits, capturing a surprisingly well-lit image. Also counter intuitive, not all dark energies and entities wish you harm or want to use you, however some do. It’s smart to learn how to distinguish and discern.

Basic Psychic and Spiritual Tools

A discussion about the psychic and spiritual world would be incomplete without providing you with some basic tools.

• Center Yourself: We think our busy lives require us to be all things and be all places... at once. We easily scatter ourselves to the winds. It’s okay to give yourself permission to come home to yourself and feel peace. You are most effective when you are at home inside yourself. It’s easy:
  
  • Stop.
    
  • Breathe.
    
  • Relax
    
  • Feel yourself come home to rest inside you.
    
    
• Ground Yourself: Religious texts and spiritual texts alike refer frequently to the six creation directions (Ref: “The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life" by Drunvalo Melchizedek): down, up and the four cardinal directions of north, south, east and west. Grounding is about sending energy out through your feet and anchoring in Earth energy; about sending energy out the crown of your head and anchoring in Celestial energy; about orienting yourself to the four cardinal directions. You can do this visually any number of ways. My favorite is imagining I’m a gigantic tree with roots far into the Earth and big beautiful limbs far into the sky. Another is sending a white energy cord out your feet and crown that anchor into the Earth and Celestial energy networks (Also See: “Creating Sacred Space”).
  
  
• Protect Yourself: A little knowledge can make you dangerous to yourself. Protection is first and foremost in any psychic, spiritual or energy work. Now that you are becoming a bit more aware, make sure you consciously and systematically ask for and visualize protection. Here are a few simple tools:
  
  • Ask for your “Highest Good” to be fulfilled.
    
  • Ask for your Highest Guides and Angels to protect and guide you. (“For my highest good, I trust that I am guided, guarded and protected.”)
    
  • Picture a light bubble surrounding and protecting you.
    
  • Picture the rooms/places you enter as filled with light.
    
  • Call on your favorite entity (Jesus, Mother Mary, Buddha, etc).
    
  • Ask that your living space be cleared of anything that is not for your highest good.
    
    
• Free Will: We live on a planet of free will, free choice. Therefore, the Energetic and Multi-dimensional world surrounding us is not allowed to interfere without our permission.
  
  
• ASK for HELP: We are surrounded by help: Angels, Spirit Guides, Elementals and more. But because of the ‘free will, free choice’ clause, they are hand tied to directly help us unless we ASK. It’s so simple... specifically and directly ask for help.
  
  
• You get what you ask for: The universe functions somewhat like a computer— what you put in is what you are going to get out. Make sure when you are asking for help that you are using: first person, present tense, active, positive language. Be specific (Ref: www.intenders.com). Always think about sending quality questions through your mind and being (Ref:Anthony Robbins).
  
  
• Two Part Prayer: Prayer is essentially our thoughts going out to the universe— our consciousness. Prayers happen in all shapes, forms and intensity levels. Prayers always get answered. The question is, are you in a state to ‘receive’ the answer? Sometimes the answers to prayers are not what we necessarily want to hear, so we shut down our receiving equipment. Most of psychic work is not what you are sending out— it’s learning how to still and quiet your inner self so that you may better receive.
  
  
• The “Why Me?” Syndrome (a.k.a. known as “The Law of Attraction): Whatever is happening in your life, you are attracting it to you. You change your life by shifting your focus and changing your perceptions. Whatever it is you are focusing on, that’s what you are making larger in your life and attracting (Ref: the movie, “The Secret”).
  
  

• Everything happens for a reason... Everything: When something happens to me that I don’t understand I ask my Spirit Guides “What is it that I need to see? What’s my lesson here? What do I need to learn?” (Ref: Tool from the Oprah Winfrey Show). I’ve been using this for years and it works. Sometimes the answer that registers is as simple as “Slow Down, Babe.” Sometimes the answer that registers is the bread crumb leading me to life altering perceptions and changes. There really is no such thing as an accident.
  
  
• In Time and On Time: Everything is naturally unfolding at will, as it should... in time and on time. If you trust this and let go of fear, control, anger, impatience and so many other negative emotions, you will be surprised how beautifully and easily the universe responds to you in the choreography of synchronistic events. You are loved, you are supported and you are surrounded by help. Let go and Let it be (Ref: Linda, my mentor).
  
  
• The Mind: Yes, we’ve all heard how a mind is a terrible thing to waste. A mind is also a terrible thing when it’s out of control, running rampant, twisting, turning and stomping all over our ‘being.’ Our minds are brilliant, beautiful tools, yet we are far more than just our minds. Occasionally release your mind and allow yourself to feel your ‘being,’ your ‘essence.’ Know how beautiful you are and that you are a creature of energetic, divine love, living through a physical body.
  
  
• Strengthening Your Psychic Muscles: So, you might be thinking, “If I’m psychic, why haven’t I been doing this my whole life?” Several reasons. You actually are already psychically functioning. It tends to be glossed over and assigned other, more socially acceptable labels— so you write it off as something else. Also, our psychic ability tends to be drummed out of us as children. We are taught that fantasy is not real, to be realistic and live in the real world. All the little sensory psychic things we experience as children shut down. But they are still there. If you are willing to patiently and systematically watch, wait and listen, your psychic skills and tools will gradually begin to appear. When they do appear, make sure you pay attention, wake up, validate and embrace them.
