This is a collection of some of the valuable, heart warming comments other’s have written describing their experiences of working with me. I am very thankful and honored by these words. I’m lucky to do this work with all of you.
This is also a collection of some of the warts occurring within a psychic practice. Usually, testimonial collections are one-sided affairs showing only your lovely, bright, shiny perfection to the world without revealing any of your warts... and yet, we all know the warts are there. These warts are part of the shadow side of self we all possess yet many times fail to acknowledge. However, this is the area where some of our greatest potential healings and growth. Admittedly, some of my best learning experiences as a professional psychic occur when things don’t work out, when the ride gets a bit bumpy. These are the times when more than usual I stop and really work with questions like... what am I to learn here? What am I seeing/feeling and not seeing/feeling? What can I do better the next time? How do I need to change, learn, grow?
So, although some may believe that revealing some of my warts and the warts of the profession is the equivalent of shooting my self in my business foot, I believe otherwise. I believe we are all evolving to ‘see’ our world more comprehensively, and ‘seeing’ includes managing looking at the light AND the shadow world. The more all of us can responsibly and compassionately grasp working with the light AND shadow parts of ourselves and others the more we will all benefit.
I choose to share these positive testimonials as well as my warts (the readings that didn’t work out so smoothly) in an effort to provide you with a more comprehensive picture of experiences within the psychic, intuitive, energy worlds. May you learn from the successes and mistakes that went before.

The “Just Read Me” Wart – March 2008
This has happened multiple times now: the client who wants a reading sits down in their chair next to me and says, ‘just read me.’ Often, this is accompanied with arms crossed in front of them, offering up a defensive posture as I waddle through in an attempt to fulfill the endeavor and successfully prove myself. No one wins in this situation. Well, yes, okay... I am a professional practicing psychic. And yes, I do spontaneously receive information. And yes, depending on my connection with the individual, I can pick up an energy flow, go with it and ‘just read you.’ But I find too many things inherently unsound in the ‘just read me’ practice. Without you sitting in the driver’s seat of your life (which is you taking responsibility for your life and asking pointed, heartfelt questions), you give away too much power to the psychic reading for you. My job is to read energy, not to pick and choose from the fathomless energy field and decipher what you want/need. When you ask a question, you help me do my job better for you — which is read energy that more often than not, flows off the question. When someone says ‘just read me,’ an alarm bell goes off inside me and a feeling of ‘walk away from the baked goods in aisle 13. Walk away now.’

The “After 30 Seconds It Isn’t Resonating With Me” Wart -
January 2007
It was an introductory channel reading I responded to through email. I spent sufficient time setting space, touching in, channeling and editing the message for the client. I felt very confident about the energies that had flowed through and the descriptions about them. Within (I swear to God), a minute of sending this client the reading, this individual emailed back, “This really isn’t resonating with me at all. I can’t believe I wasted my money on this.” Usually, I have some time to unplug and clear, but not this time. After being so connected to this person’s energy field, the response slammed back at me and stunned me. Among other things, this experience showed me how important the receiving end is. If I am slowing down, getting quiet and clear, and deeply connecting with energy to do the reading, it might be a really good idea on the receiving end to slow down, get quiet and clear and connect with your self to receive. This is where/how we truly know if something resonates or not (a quick reaction like this individual usually indicates to me that the individual is running away from the information presented). My hope is that you are spending as much and more time with your reading as I did channeling it for you. This is the best way to reap as much as you can from the reading.

The “Expected Reading” Wart - December 2007
After reviewing this event in retrospect, I realized this individual and I were standing in two completely different energy/ideology rooms. The misunderstanding and miscommunication that stemmed from the beginning turned into a disaster. She purchased a full reading from me without doing her homework as to the type of psychic I am (I do work session readings that are direct and straight up with the truth about the energies I experience and provide tools in tandem to work with). She also purchased the reading expecting it to make her feel better, boost her ego and balm her soul. I made the mistake of not slowing down to explain/clarify my work and dove right in to doing my job. Unfortunately, her expectations and my work collided and blew up. I sent her the reading believing I had fulfilled my task. She received the reading and was unprepared for the energies/information Spirit had me walk her through. Eventually, I received an email from her. She tried to keep it professional on top, but whether she knew it or not, underneath, she unleashed a psychic attack that was terribly painful for me... and ironically proved a great deal about the energies in the reading. Moral to the story? Please know that if you enter into a psychic reading with specific expectations as to receiving certain information in a certain way, there is a high likelihood you will be disappointed. Since this reading, I’ve been a lot more careful to be consciously compassionate and supportive when delivering the more difficult information.

The “When My Cats Participate” Warts - November 2007
My two cats, Winston and Celia, tend to participate in sessions at some very inappropriate (well, maybe VERY appropriate times). During one session, my client and I had arrived at the core energy of some deep issues. In the quiet after some crying release, my client and I distinctly heard my dainty Celia soundly wheeze-snoring from her kitty bed, deep in slumber. We immediately erupted into some much needed laughter. On another occasion, as a client and I discussed the role of male energy and male symbolism at certain points in her life, Winston, my male kitty, took a kitty poop dump in his litter box. It stunk up the session and proved the point. Needless to say, that box is now removed from the room during client sessions.

The “I Know Better” Wart – November 2007
Sometimes its fun working with fellow practitioners because they understand, they get it! So, you can just blaze away and they are on for the ride. Sometimes, however, it’s a little dicey. Sometimes frameworks don’t line up, get questioned, or you politely butt heads. The most difficult fellow-practitioner situations occur when a requested reading turns into a ‘prove it to me’ session or an ‘I know better than you anyway’ session. It’s a great way to kill energy and drop things dead in the water.

The “I Don’t Believe I’m Your Psychic” Wart – October 2007
How does a reading or session go south or blow up? Oh, let me count the ways. In general, the most often occurring misfiring in a session is simply this: the reader and readee are standing in two completely different energy rooms and then miscommunication and misunderstanding ensues, not to mention the energy flow gets totally warped or killed. Not all readers are for all people. At a show, as people walk by, I can feel the people I need to be working with and the ones I need to let go. After trying to work with everyone, and slamming into the brick energy wall, oh, say, half a dozen times, I realized that sometimes it’s okay to say, “You know, I don’t believe I’m your psychic.” This is why diversity of psychic/intuitive readers in the field is SO important. This is why its very important for you to understand that each psychic is different, each psychic has their own unique way of receiving, perceiving and translating energetic information. No one is right. Not one is wrong. We’re all different. And this is a beautiful thing.

“I first contacted Dana in October 2007 regarding some issues that I needed to understand about my deceased ex-husband. Her reading was very enlightening and helpful. I understood the 'whys' behind my dilemma in dealing with his death and the unfinished business he and I need to do. Her accuracy and insights were truly phenomenal. The “I Want to Know But Not Really” Warts – October 2007
I find there are several different kinds of readees. There are those who ask and really, truly want to know — they are impassioned sponges, hungry for experience, energy, knowledge. There are those who ask and are terrified to know, but brave it and listen as best they can — and it usually turns out far better than they expected. There are those who ask, think they want to know, but really don’t. And there are those who just don’t want to know. What’s interesting with all of these is that the energy flow usually follows accordingly from one end of the spectrum to the other, from strong flowing channels to eeking leaks of energy.

The “Three Year Old Photo” Wart - September 2007
The readee sent me photos of herself that were three years old. I did not know the photos were three years old and proceeded to ‘read’ from her energy of three years ago. But as the Spirit world shows us, there are no accidents. When she sent me her current photos, her energy field was showing a dramatic improvement from the previous set. However, Spirit was still engaged in communicating to her some of her unfinished lessons from residual energies. As it turns out, she was very disappointed, and said to me, quote “...but you seem like such a nice person.” Which I took to mean, ‘how can you wrestle with this ‘stuff’ when you look so benign.’
